Announcing UKISDA
Friday, January 13, 2006
UK Sport has convened the UK International Sport for Development Alliance (UKISDA), which is a core group of organisations working in the field of using sport to promote human and social development in developing countries. The group’s formation was as a result of interest generated by the UN Year of Sport and Physical Education, feedback from UK representatives at the Next Steps conference held in June in Zambia and a general demand from various UK partners for a more co-ordinated and high profile approach to this field of work in the UK.
UKISDA has invited Aaron Beacom to become a member of their wider reference group and he has agreed to represent the College on this important development.
