The Learning and Teaching Support Network for Hospitality, Tourism, Sport and Leisure has been absorbed into the Higher Education Academy. Nevertheless, its activities are carrying on as before to a large degree. One of these activities is the commissioning of Resource Guides. The function of the resource guides is to provide material for lecturers in higher education when developing new programmes and modules in particular areas of study. The intended audience for the guides is, therefore, our fellow university teachers rather than students. The LTSN pay a fee for the production of these resource guides of £500. I was reminded of this process when I was approached to act as a referee of a resource guide that is in the process of completion. If you are interested in producing one of these resource guides you may wish to take a look at the existing materials. Also, Dave Harris has written one (on Leisure Consumerism) and he could advise too.
