Major Conference at Marjon
The Regional Conference for Sports Clubs in the South-West, an event funded by Sport England, is being hosted by the College on 30th June. This is a major event for the region. The SSPEL Centre for Sports Development is managing the Conference from the Marjon end and both Harry Richardson and Chris Mather are delivering workshops during the day. These will focus on the innovative work they have begun in establishing a multi sports Hub Club based at Marjon, which will aim to implement the strategy outlined in the SW Regional Plan for Sport.The Conference will discuss developing a network of sports clubs across the region, focusing on ‘multi-sport’ provision. The goal is to ‘drive up participation, improve performance and widen access to sport and physical activity’.
It is anticipated that a wide range of providers, including schools, private sector companies, voluntary agencies and NGBs will be attending.
